Style Tips for the Young Businessmen

Style Tips for the Young Businessmen

When you first begin working, it can be difficult to choose your clothes each day. This is particularly true if you spent years living in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. Now that you are a part of the working crowd, however, your style tips is going to need a serious upgrade. Unfortunately, most people mistake business attire for being incredibly boring and completely unstylish. This is simply a false notion. There is a way that you can look sharp and well dressed, and still turn more than a few heads. Here are some pointers to get you started:

Your Everyday Look

Unless you work somewhere quite casual, you probably have to don mens suits for the whole week. Understandably, this can get quite boring. However, there are several ways that you can help yourself look a lot better in your daily ensemble. Of course, it starts with the fit. If you want to look like a seriously stylish businessman, you are going to have to make sure that all of your suits fit you perfectly. If you are having some trouble finding your size, get your clothes tailored instead. Make sure that your clothes are neither too tight nor too loose. Opt instead for a more streamlined look. This way, you will be able to highlight the best portions of your physique while skimming over the less flattering areas.

Patterned Shirts

Most gents choose work shirts that are in neutral colours. One of the reasons is that it makes it incredibly easy to match the rest of your outfit. You do not have to put a lot of consideration into what comes next. The downside of this is that your ensemble tends to look quite boring. A great way to switch this up is by choosing patterned shirts. You should, however, stay away from anything that is too large or bold. Instead choose small, thin stripes or a mild grid pattern. Stay within corporate dress code limits by selecting light blue as the pattern colour.

Shoes and Socks

Choosing the right shoes and socks can get a little tricky. Since you have a dress code to uphold, it is best to stick with either black or brown shoes. Remember to keep them clean and shiny, as unkempt shoes can ruin your entire look. There is a rule of thumb that you can follow with determining colours. Your shoes should always match the colour of your belt. Your socks, however, should match the colour of your work trousers. As long as you remember this, you will never look mismatched again.

Ties

Most people fear going overboard with their ties. This is why they opt for nice, safe block colours. Ties, nonetheless, are a great outlet for both style and personality. This is why you should not be afraid of adding a little bit of flair to your old, boring ties. All you have to do is make sure that the tie does not clash with your shirt. That being said, it is perfectly fine for it to contrast with your work shirt. Use patterns and subtle colouring to change up your tie look.

Use the above pointers as a guideline when you are getting dressed every day. This way, you can be sure to make an impact every time you walk into your office.
